Maia is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#17479), under the clinical supervision of Jenica McKeown (LCSW #62086). She is committed to using a strengths-based approach to highlight growth and development within a client’s unique human experience. She takes a collaborative approach, empowering clients to develop confidence in themselves within their daily lives outside of sessions. Using a feminist-based lens, Maia recognizes and explores the importance of our cultural and social identities, and how their interactions and experiences within society may impact our own mental health and well-being. Her previous experience working with children, families, and adolescents helped to develop a passion for working within family dynamics of all varieties to promote healthy communication, relationships, and connections with oneself and others. She recognizes that it takes a village to support one another, and collaboratively explores ways to find, grow, and maintain interpersonal relationships for her clients within their personal lives.
Maia offers individual, family, and couples counseling for clients within the state of California for a wide range of presenting concerns. These include: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment periods, trauma, parental mental health, and mulit-cultural experiences.
